Among the most interesting consequences of intraosseous injuries surely we can count the changes they produce on the underlying joints.
In the presence of an intraosseous lesion on the femur we are faced with the variation of the load lines therefore the weight is not distributed on the femoral condyles equally; this imbalance will result in different consumption of the menisci.
The ankle joint having to bear the weight of the whole body is more prone to have this type of problem both because of the high frequency of traumatic injuries that the tibia can suffer and because of the overloading of the tibia itself especially in those disciplines such as basketball or dance that involve repeated jumps.
To this we must add load imbalances due to visceral tension, cranio sacral problems or joint problems of the different districts.
In this way we can explain joint degeneration that cannot be attributed to direct trauma to the joints.
